Periodontal Disease

A recent study shows that in the US, 46% of adults (67 million people) have periodontal disease. The condition was found to be severe almost 9% of the time. The main reason periodontal disease becomes severe is lack of early diagnosis and treatment.

Periodontal disease often exists in the absence of obvious symptoms such as pain and/or swelling, so many people who have periodontal disease are unaware of its presence. If your gums bleed when you floss, this is an indication of inflammation of the gums, and a thorough examination can determine if you are at risk.

One of the main reasons people do not follow through with definitive treatment for periodontal disease is the fear associated with traditional surgery. This is where LANAP provides an excellent alternative.
