Dr. Dolgos' Experience

Our Services
TMJ Rehabilitation
Dr. Dolgos offers a range of TMJ therapy options at his Orchard Park office, including orthotic therapy, TMJ prolotherapy, BOTOX®, trigger point injections, muscle relaxants, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), laser biostimulation, and physical therapy. These therapies can provide relief from symptoms such as lockjaw, pain, tenderness, difficulty chewing, and muscle spasms.
Sleep Apnea Treatment
Sleep apnea can trigger responses in the jaw muscles that can increase the risk of TMJ disorder. Clenching and grinding the teeth together seems to be a common involuntary response as the body fights to maintain an open airway. Oral appliances called Mandibular Advancement Devices, or MAD’s, can be used to treat sleep apnea, and keep your airway open while you sleep peacefully. We prefer a new device called the ProSomnus EVO, which is made from a revolutionary material that is comfortable, durable, BPA free, biocompatible, and easy to keep clean.
I am so happy to have my daughter and my mom coming here. Dr Dolgos and his staff are supper nice and professional. Its like a family there and your part of it....and the best thing...his treatment plans work!!!!!!

Get to Know Jeffrey Dolgos, DDS
I grew up in Avon, NY, and went to St. John Fisher College. I graduated with a BA in English, and a minor in Chemistry. I was also a pitcher on the baseball team for the first three years, but ended up injuring my shoulder, which required reconstructive surgery. This experience actually taught me quite a bit about joint mechanics. I came to Buffalo for Dental School in 1992, and graduated in 1996. Right after graduation, I was commissioned as an officer in the US Air Force, and was stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, Louisiana. There I complete a one-year AEGD (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) residency, and was stationed at a small pilot-training base in Mississippi for the next two years.
After I had served my time in the Air Force, my wife and I moved to Ashburn, Virginia, where I joined a private practice affiliated with the Washington Redskins. Amy gave birth to twin girls in 2000, and we decided to move back to the Buffalo area to be closer to our families. I worked in a few different settings before finding my passion when I connected with Dr. Robert Kull in 2011, whose West Seneca practice (Western New York TMD and Orofacial Pain Center) specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of TMJ Dysfunction and related conditions. I finally purchased this practice in 2015, and changed the name to Buffalo TMJ.
Over the years I’ve searched far and wide for solutions to the problems that bring people to my practice. I studied occlusion at the prestigious Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida, and I have fond memories of the many weeks I spent learning and growing there. I was a part-time clinical instructor at the UB Dental School from 2004 until 2008, which was the year I became a certified instructor with the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry. In 2012 I completed a “mini-residency” with the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, and earned Fellowship status in that organization.
Over the years, I developed a systematic TMJ Rehabilitation protocol, which we use with all of our patient today. I published a book called TMJ Rehab in 2018, and created a mobile app with the same name in 2021. I take a holistic approach to TMJ Dysfunction, and I work with a number of chiropractors, physical therapists, massage therapists, ENT’s, neurologists, oral surgeons, and dentists, to offer more comprehensive solutions for my patients. Recently we’ve integrated a digital 3D CT scan into our diagnostic protocol, and I’ve added 3D imaging, design, and printing to improve the fit, comfort, and durability of the oral appliances I make.
On the personal side, I enjoy spending time with my family, writing and recording music, playing in the Folk Band at my church, and playing golf.
